We thank all who came to celebrate Robyn and Ryan’s wedding. The family gathered, were housed in our homes and the local hotels, motels and campgrounds. Our event was held at the Didsbury United Church and Didsbury Memorial Complex, and we found the facilities excellent.

We thank all the family and friends who helped us plan, decorate and cater this event ourselves, as well as a supporting cast of florist Erin Braybrook at “It’s a Jungle” in Carstairs, music by DJ Lone Wolf Productions, and Denny’s Photography for formal photography. Cousin Stacy videotaped proceedings and is under production as we blog. We will have to find out if she is officially hanging out a shingle, as her videographic and editing talents have been put to the test in a number of projects already.

It is a testament to the advantages of living in a small community with family within hailing distance when you can muster this kind of support for a common cause. Putting on an “Olds Fashioned” 5-day Wedding event with proper tribute to Ukrainian heritage, along with a smattering of a host of other countries our clans’ forefathers laid claim to is no simple feat and we could not have done it without a stellar troupe.

We have just had a sneak peak at the couple’s formal photos, and hear that the thankyou notes will be soon in production. We will post some here in the near future, with the couple’s permission.

Again, much thanks from the parents of the bride to all who were able to send best wishes, be here in person, and contribute to the success of the event.
